	AMRL The AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL) provides laboratory and quality system assessments for laboratories engaged in the testing of soil and construction materials.  AMRL thoroughly inspects test equipment, calibration records, laboratory staff qualifications, quality system procedures, and the accuracy of laboratory test methods to the requirements outlined in AASHTO R18, ASTM C1077 (aggregate), ASTM D3666 (bituminous and aggregate), ASTM D3740 (soil), ASTM E329 (all fields).  Please see DEM in the AMRL directory.
	CCRL The Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) provides laboratory assessment for laboratories engaged in the testing of hydraulic cement, portland cement concrete, aggregate, steel reinforcing bars, pozzolans, and masonry materials.  CCRL thoroughly inspects test equipment, calibration records, laboratory staff qualifications, and laboratory test methods to the requirements outlined in ASTM C1077 (concrete and aggregate).  CCRL is a N.I.S.T Research Associate Program sponsored by the ASTM.
	Caltrans The California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) is responsible for all transportation planning, design, construction, and administrative activities for California’s highway network.  Caltrans district offices are also responsible for the inspection and certification of laboratories engaged in the testing of materials and soil for the construction of highways.
	AASHTO The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) provides technical services and guidance for the advancement, design, education, development, and awareness of transportation and transportation systems.  AASHTO publishes test standards, design manuals, committee findings, and bulletins related to a variety of transportation issues.
	ACI The American Concrete Institute (ACI) provides seminars, certification programs, published technical documents, and code provisions for a variety of issues relating to the construction, design, testing, and manufacturing of concrete and concrete products.  With over 15000 members, ACI is one of the largest construction industry organizations is the world.
	ASTM The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) is the world wide leader in the development and organization of technical standards, products, systems, and services for materials.  ASTM is the forum of choice for a diverse range of industries and the standardization of their corresponding materials.
	City of San Diego-DSD The City of San Diego – Development Services Department (DSD) provides guidance, instruction, and news updates for a variety issues relating to construction and development in San Diego.  Many important forms, bulletins, guidelines, templates, newsletters, and services are available through the City of San Diego DSD website.  Please see DEM in the Approved Testing Materials Laboratories directory
